Kress Terrace is a special event rental facility in the heart of downtown Greensboro. Our facility has been specifically designed to accommodate a full range of events, from business events to rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions. Kress Terrace is located on the fourth floor of the renowned S.H. Kress building, restored in 2000 to its original Art-Deco distinction. Along with the authentic charm of the 1930's, Kress Terrace also offers modern amenities essential to a successful event.
Located at 212 South Elm Street, Kress Terrace shares the building with the Inferno, one of Greensboro's hottest night spots. The Kress Building shares the block with Triad Stage, Chakras Spa, Churchill's Downtown Bar, Fincastle's Diner, 223 South Elm Street and Liberty Oak restaurants.
Our Mission
Our mission at the Kress Terrace is to provide a unique, yet exquisite facility that will accommodate a full range of events, from business luncheons and cocktail socials to rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions. With our restored art-deco distinction and our spacious banquet room and adjoining rooftop terrace, we make it possible to host both indoor and outdoor events. We respect our preferred caterers that utilize our facility on a weekly basis, as well as all other vendors with whom we do business. We believe in creating the ideal setting for every event, allowing our clients and their guests to dance under the stars.
Specifications & Capacity
Kress Terrace offers an elegant 2,250 square-foot interior banquet hall that opens onto an expansive 4,500 square-foot rooftop terrace overlooking downtown. Our interior space may accomodate 150 seated or 175 for a cocktail reception. In combination with the adjoining rooftop terrace, Kress Terrace may accommodate 300.
Our terrace may be tented as necessary for all-weather, year-round events. Weddings, Rehearsal Dinners, Business Receptions, Seminars and Luncheons are extraordinary in this Rooftop Setting.
